Q: Which Ford Cable do i need?
Model Year 24.5+ Ford Ranger / Everest with 360-degree cameras → CA26 Hardwire Cable (Blunt Cut Wires under glovebox)
Model Year 2022–24.0 All Ranger / Everest models → CA27 Cluster Plug Cable (behind dash)
Model Year 24.5+ Ford Ranger / Everest without 360-degree cameras → CA27 Cluster Plug Cable (behind dash)
Q: What if I don’t have pre-installed camera wiring under the glovebox?
This cable is designed specifically for vehicles without those wires. You’ll use the hidden plug behind the cluster panel for integration.
Q: My dealer doesn’t know about activating the trailer camera icon. What can I tell them?
Ford’s Body Building Manual (pages 114–116) confirms that reprogramming of the APIM and IPMA modules is required via the FDRS tool. This enables the AUX camera function on the Sync 4 screen.
Q: What vehicles support this integration?
Only vehicles with Digital Rear Vision and/or 360-degree cameras (J3KAH or J3KAR) have the IPMA capability to support aftermarket AUX cameras.
Q: Can I view the caravan camera at any time?
If your vehicle has pre-installed wiring and Ford did not update the IPMA module, you should be able to view the caravan camera anytime. If Ford has updated the IPMA module, then this will be at the discretion of the Ford dealer. Please be aware that some models will only allow the caravan camera to display in reverse or when travelling under 8 km/h.
Q: Is this compatible with cab chassis models?
No, cab chassis variants are not supported.
